It’s always a good time!

Neil’s birthday party last night reminded me of how I used to be–carefree and lively. To notice that myself, I must have changed a lot. I can’t believe it’s been a year since his last party. A lot of things happened in those 365 days and I’m not even sure if I can remember each one of them. I’m just really, really glad that I survived the hardships and despite those, I still had the still had the strength to always see the bright side and have a good time.

On a lighter note, here are some of the photos from the party!

I might have changed a lot, I might have new friends to hang out with, but these are still the greatest people you’ll ever meet : )

Til next time, Amber.

We’re too cute for your life ;)

These are all photos from Dzi’s Photobooth in her MacBook. Three random days of vanity with Jem, Dzi, A, Sharah, Glenda, and Gretch. I apologize for the low quality of the pictures. Have fun, though! :)

I’m sorry. We were really bored :P

Blue Roast 2012

It has always been part of the Ateneo tradition to send off their seniors through a gathering called the Blue Roast. Booths, booze, concert, freebies, and blue roses are just some of the things that you can expect in this awesome event. Normally I don’t attend school activities, but I promised myself during my freshman year that I was going to attend this one and will be with people whom I have been friends since first year college. So, I spent the afternoon with AVC friends and the rest of the night with Jem, Dzi, A, Sharah, Gretch, and Fille. Since I have been spending most of my time with AVC, I found my blue roast experience nostalgic. Definitely missed these girls! SHOCKS. It’s been FOUR, fast years.

To a certain extent, this year’s Blue Roast was just what I expected. As much as I didn’t want to spoil myself with any Blue Roast details, I have been to one before this. Although this was the case, the feeling of the event being dedicated to the batch you’re part of was very different from the feeling of just attending it for a friend. For the record, I wasn’t expecting that it was going to be this fun! :)

Big ass SMART lantern

I’m not that tall, okay. Ground wasn’t flat :)

Hello, Rem! :)

My brother from another made it! Feeling senior ulit? :) )

Fille and Tec :)

Awesome Pasco is AWESOME! Had a picture taken with our Philo prof :D

In the middle of the event, all seniors were given one free blue rose. It is part of the tradition for the seniors to give their blue rose to the person: a) who made an impact in their college life; b) they want to confess their feelings to, or; c) they really love. I’m not sure if these are the right descriptions, but to make things simple, blue rose is meant to be given to a person who’s very special to you.

When the roses were starting to be distributed to the students, PANIC MODE: ON. Honestly, I don’t like-like anyone right now–and even if I did decide to give it to a friend who have made an impact in my college life, THERE ARE JUST SO MANY OF THEM. Gah. Blue rose, y u make things so complicated?! I actually wanted to buy extra roses and just shuffle the free [special] rose with everything else, but it just felt wrong. So, I decided to give my blue rose to JJ [eh, wala kaming picture together :( ] because he was the one who made most impact in me. Before anything else, JJ’s a really good friend, alright? He’s been there through ups and downs, which not everyone would do. I really appreciate his efforts in always trying to stand by my side–in good times and bad times. For that, he deserves my blue rose :)

Sadly, Dzi loses her blue rose before she was able to give it to someone else :(

Blue Rose :)

Jem gives her blue rose to Flavie! :) YIIIE :) ) #kidding

Best friends :D

Hands down to this brave guy (Gretch’s friend) who went up the stage to announce who he was giving his blue rose to :)

Four years would not have been the same without the four of you. Lam niyo na yun kung bakit. We might have drifted apart, but we always find a way to catch up and act like we still talk each and every day. We stuck with each other no matter how bad things went and you girls always made me feel that I will always have you by my side. Thank you. Sorry. I LOVE YOU <3 106 forever and ever, AMEN :)

Four girls <3 106.

OC-iest of them all! :D

Pinakamalakas mang-trip :) )

A, finish your food ;)

[Can't find a picture of me with Sharah] The Talkative one :>

The person I can dance with anywhere even without music,
The person who’s willing to stay up all night with you while eating cup noodles,
The person who treated me like I was part of her family, and;
The person who I’ve known forever and made beach volleyball fun:
You girls are awesome :D

After party [este, dinner] at Shakey’s with awesome Rico Blanco :)

I should definitely remember to thank the organizers someday :) Thanks to Gretch for the awesome pictures!

The “BLUE” meets “GREEN”

I’m now officially a BUM. Since seniors take their finals a month earlier than the undergrads, we have no choice but to entertain ourselves while waiting for graduation–in my case, just to wait for summer classes to start. So, the day is divided into two parts: lunch at Japonica and a visit to Taft in the afternoon. I thought that it was the perfect opportunity for new friends to finally meet my old friends.

Lunch at Japonica
So, Kyle and JJ met some of my friends from high school. While Kc brought Rc with her, Dan brought Nina with her. It was like, us, bringing new people to the table and making them part of our old lives. I think that’s the best part of having new and old friends; when they learn to be friends with each other as well. Kc and Rc are from UST, while Nina and Dan are from CSB. Nina’s first time to eat Magnum! :)

Throwing ice at each other :) ))

TAFT: Blast from the past!
After lunch, the three of us, JJ, Kyle, and I, went straight to Taft to meet the A, Jem, Sharah, and Glenda. I don’t remember how we ended up with that plan, but it sounded fun to all of us. After all, we were getting tired of the Katipunan set-up. While waiting for the other four, I met with a few La Salle friends, saw old schoolmates and teammates, and played billiards with the two boys. Here’s the funny thing, when we got tired of billiards and had nothing else to do, we randomly went inside the computer shop and found BATTLE REALMS. T*ng*n*!! Childhood! :) After a while, the four girls arrived and it was time to partaaay–okay, I’m just kidding. We didn’t party, haha! We just had a few drinks and ate isaw. BEEER POOOOONG :)

Hi, Trix! PEZ :) )

Oh yeaaah! Taft Tuesdays? :)
Definitely doing this again!

Post-Christmas Blues

I meant it when I said that I’m gonna make this year my year. If my [almost] four years stay in the Ateneo felt like it happened in less than a month,I’m pretty sure my last three months will pass by shorter than a typhoon. I can’t imagine a better first week of the year (except for my overflowing emotions I had a while ago, which is a completely different story).  So, here’s a recap of what happened to me this week:

January 2 [Monday]
Spent the afternoon with my family and the rest of the night with AVC friends. We had a small get together at Inna’s house after the training in Celebrity. We call it the ‘AVC Post-Christmas Party’.

After my decision to “hibernate” last Christmas break, seeing my friends and being able to hangout with them again was well looked forward to. I was actually the one who organized it since I wanted to make it up to them. Cheesy as it might sound, I really missed every single person in this part. Thanks Inna for the place ; )

P.S Jarvis and Louise FTW! :) ))

January 4 [Wednesday]
Well, first day of classes for the year was pretty normal except for the fact that I was able to have dinner with my 106 girls again after a very long time. Eating dinner with A, Dzi, Jem, and Sharah was like a routine in my first three years of college. But ever since I decided to move out of the dorm and live in the condo with Jen, I wasn’t able to spend as much time with them anymore. So, we decided to have a 106/315 mini reunion over dinner to make up for the time that we lost for each other. After all, we treated each other like sisters before. To make things a bit more exciting, we invited Glenda (an old schoolmate of mine) because she was also starting to be close with all of us.

To recreate the feeling back in first year college, we ate at Chicken Bacolod (one of our favorite restaurants in Katipunan before), then had a short drinking session at Cantina (courtesy of Ms. Sharah So) with two guys from the men’s team. It was definitely our typical night out back in our freshman year.

After bringing everyone else back in the dorm, Sharah and I decided to have an ‘UBE’ (ultimate bonding session) to catch up on each other’s lives. This year, I became busy with school and organization work, while Sharah spent most of her time with their family company. There was not much time to talk and go out anymore unlike before. So, having this talk made me feel like having my old friend back again. I’m really glad we had that talk because it was a perfect time to have someone give me back my sanity after going through that awful Christmas break. I admit that I needed a girl to tell me how to fix my life. Despite enjoying every second with my guy friends at AVC, to a certain extent, only a girl can tell another girl how to get back up when life knocks her down.

At the end, I was able to assure myself that I was going to be fine because I have these girls in my life : )

January 6 [Friday]
I ended up sleeping over at Sharah’s house last Thursday night because our meeting for the Boracay event finished late. We ended up hanging out in the bar until 2 AM, so it was pretty obvious that we were all too tired to go back to Katipunan. Because of this, I ended up being late for all my meetings (cancelled the everything scheduled in the morning). After AVC training, I wasn’t really in the best mood for anything because of this certain BITCH (excuse my language, but I don’t usually call anyone by this word except if they really do deserve it), but got over it during dinner. Thanks to my awesome friends, I found myself laughing at anything at the end of the night like nothing happened. They do make life seem worthwhile when I feel like giving up because they make me feel that they will never give up on me no matter how stupid or irrational I may get.

Fishbowl party at Jack’s Loft with AVC plus Sharah, Glenda, A, Jem, and Boom : )

I love how the photos turned out party-ish, although they’re a little over saturated (my bad). It’s been a while since I went out to party so I guess dinners like this make me feel carefree again. I have been so busy with the Ateneo Open and the Boracay tournament to the point that I forgot how to chill out and have fun.

After eating at Jack’s Loft, people who were left decided to play billiards near the cinemas. Since it got a little late already, we had no choice but to stay in Petron Katipunan to decide where to go next. Guess what? Everyone ended up going home because we didn’t know what to do anymore. So, the girls and I decided to have midnight snacks at Shakey’s then sleep at the dorm. I was so amazed with how friends from the varsity team and AVC gelled together.

Photos: From Inna Caluya and Jem Ferrer <3 Thanks, girls!
