I don’t know why, but a lot of people liked my hair last Thursday. Now I’m thinking if I should get it permanent. What do you think? Help me out and answer this poll:

BEACH VOLLEYBALL: Irresistible
I can’t remember the last time I went to Cantada Sports Complex. Stepping into the place reminded me of the days when I was so fit and tanned. Yes, it has been that long. Six months may not seem that long, but it does feel like it. Although it was my last-minute decision to not play because of my unusual work schedule, I decided to watch anyway. I didn’t think that it was going to take much energy from me to watch a one-day tournament. Did I have fun? Let’s just say that I made the right decision spending the entire day with these girls instead of sleeping at home
Most of the games were fun to watch. I’m just not sure if it was because players were good or because I missed the game itself. I missed seeing the sun up high. Because of work, the only time I see sun is when it’s about to set. In fact, my nose got sunburned despite not playing. I’m that sensitive to sun now.
At the end of the tournament, Dzi and Alyssa placed 4th, while Fille and Bea bagged the championship! Ate Karla and Sharah were able to join the quarter finals but failed to win for the semis. For both girls who haven’t trained for a long time, they were pretty good.
After the championship, we decided to have dinner at BCG. Unfortunately, the moment we left Cantada, the rain started pouring HARD. When we arrived Fort to find a place to eat, my flats, made of cloth, were soaked wet. I had to buy slippers from Ipanema (Ateneo Open’s sponsor, by the way) because I was having a hard time walking with those wet flats. While walking around, trying to find a restaurant with a free table, I bumped into a couple of old St. Scho classmates. I’ve been trying to see Heidi for the longest time, and there we were.
23rd of July
Oh, yes. I’m definitely having a hard time letting go of this place. It’s just too good to be true. Sometimes I even feel like everything was just a dream from a very long sleep. Don’t you think that college is one of the best experiences in life? Well, I do. I think it’s going to take a long time before I get over Ateneo–and honestly, I think that it’s a good thing.
As usual, I found myself visiting a couple of old friends in school. If you’re wondering what’s the real reason I was there, the Ateneo Open core team and I had to talk about some important things, which will be released to the public soon enough. After the meeting, I took a picture of some core members plus Chu, who decided to join us for lunch. For my batchmates who haven’t seen the new JSEC, I hope you get an idea of how it looks like now.
Since I had more time to spare, I was also able to attend the IAC General Assembly. IAC is the council that organizes the college intramurals in Ateneo. This year, the Volleyball event is spearheaded by Kim Alcantara, who is also the AVC president. I used to play in IAC with Balibolista for the my first two years and with Akash for my last year. Since Balibolista team was dissolved, I’m hoping that Akash wins their second championship this year.
As usual, AVC people were playing around–not volleyball, just so you know. This is one of the many things I miss in college. Makulit people who will make you laugh a lot. It’s just not the same at work (although a lot of funny people are there too). After the IAC GA, I played for a couple of minutes. In those few minutes of Volleyball, I almost forgot that I wasn’t a student anymore. Upon starting working, I felt like I lost a big part of me, and it is only now that I find out that it is Volleyball. Damn. I really miss playing.
After my very short visit (yes, three hours is SHORT), I had to go back to reality. Surprisingly, the day didn’t turn out so bad after all. As usual, I wasn’t much of a use to the team since I’m still on training, but it wasn’t as bad as the normal, boring days too. Usually, it kills me to get by the eight working hours. Most of the time, I wish I was piled with work than not doing anything at all. But today, eight hours didn’t seem long at all.
We had fun taking pictures of each other and doodling random things. Oh, maybe that’s why I didn’t feel that bored today. By the way, doodles were made by Raina–not me.
P.S. Guess who went shopping? : )

17. A 21-year old MILLIONAIRE
This is what happens when I get so bored at work to the point that I have nothing else to do but think about the silliest things while I stare into nothingness.
Last night, I had the craziest idea. Actually, now that I think about it again, it might not be that crazy at all. What do you guys think about a 21-year millionaire? Bizarre? Impossible? Too good to be true? Well, I think it’s possible for anyone who has the ability to work hard and has the passion for the work itself. The thing is, I’m not sure if I have these two characteristics–but I sure do want to be a millionaire by next year. Now, I just have to find out how.
I created these simple steps for me to follow when I start pursuing my dream of becoming a 21-year old millionaire:
Create the IDEA
I don’t think it’s possible to become a millionaire if you sit your ass off the couch every single day. Of course, you need to work. Now, the question is: what kind of work do I do? In order to gain the moolah, you need to think of something first that will make you the millionaire that you want to be. I don’t think that being an employee for a company is enough to get you the money we’re targeting here. Most probably, the best way to reach our goal is to start-up our own business that is in demand today. You can find a list of good small businesses by searching on the Internet.
Find the perfect PARTNER
We have to be realistic. Although there may have been a couple of young entrepreneurs who have been successful in their businesses without help from anyone, I still think that it’s better to share the dream with someone else. Trust me, we all need help. Even superheroes need their sidekicks to win a fight. Find that someone you can trust. It’s not about how close or how well you know the person, it’s about having the same goal with this person. It’s hard if you invest money on your business with your partner and end up having problems with that person. It’s the last problem you’d want to have. The number of people you share your dreams with will depend on the business you’re going to start-up.
EXECUTE it well
Now that you have your idea and your partner/s, it’s time to execute the plans. I’m no expert, but I believe that a strong foundation is very important for the business to last long and be successful. If you have organized how the execution will go and followed the timeline for every deadline there is, then I guess nothing could go wrong with operations
Get it PROMOTED
In this generation, getting your business visibly seen is the most important thing yet. Yes, I know that without the idea there will be no business in the first place. But what’s the point of having a business if it’s only you and your business partners know about it? The key to gaining more revenue is to attract more customers. Even if your cookies taste better than the cookies of other pastry shops in your neighborhood or you offer the most unique service in the city, it won’t matter as long as no one knows about it. There are many ways on how to promote your business. One way I know that’s very fast and effective is through the Internet. The easiest way is to use social networks that are reachable to your desired market.
I’ll let you know if I become a millionaire before I turn 22! : )
Random thoughts for a happy kid.
GAH. Finally. That’s done and gone–well, not really gone since I’m sure that there will be more of that in the future. It feels like I just had an OpMan defense by myself. Although it was nerve-wracking and a little frustrating, it was also a fun experience that taught me a lot. Who would have thought that I was unconsciously a die-hard Ateneo fan just because I used blue as the theme of my presentation? The bad thing is, I forgot to change the colors of my line graph. DISASTER. Just to give everyone an idea of what just happened to me, I presented my analysis of a data given 2 days ago. But really, I was surprised at how much I’ve learned for the past three weeks. Those modules actually work! Surprise, surprise.
Totally unrelated topic: Three things I’ve been thinking of buying. Tell me what you think of them and if I should really buy them.
Samsung Galaxy S3
I was supposed to buy the phone a month ago, but it was out of stock. The thing is, that was a month ago. Now, I’m having second thoughts if the iPhone 5 is worth waiting for. I just found out that Apple’s releasing it on September. I don’t mind waiting for a couple of months as long as the wait will be worthwhile. If the 5th generation’s no different from 4S, then I don’t get why I should still wait for it. I’ll order the S3 first thing tomorrow.
iPad 3
Okay. I’m no iPad fan (except for Snoopy Fair). I’d rather buy kindle for reading e-books and use my phone to play games. So, what made me change my mind? The 4 boring hours of our process training. Erica plays with her iPad when we had spare time and I can’t help but want to play too. Besides, I can also use it for notes and watch television series. (Yes, Erica has brainwashed me already.) I think it’s about time to get an iPad.
Hyundai Elantra
Yeah, yeah. I KNOW. I’m planning on buying a car. Surprising, isn’t it? Although can I just say? I’m not buying a car for the sake of just buying. I think I really need to given that both of our cars are used everyday and my work is very far from my house. It’ll be used everyday for sure, so no worries about wasting money. Besides, don’t you think the Hyundai cars this year are outstandingly pretty?
Another thing that happened in work today that I’d like to share to everyone: newbies! Now there are six OpEx Specialist who are ALL Ateneans. 2 from ME, 2 from MECO, and another 2 from COMTECH. It’s cool, isn’t it? Our group’s getting bigger and NOISIER. I noticed how noisy we were laughing at things that a fresh graduate would laugh about. Ahh. Surrounded by young people again.
For tonight, I’m not going to do any work. I’ll save them for tomorrow. The only thing that I have to do tonight is rest. I’m not sure if I deserve an award for the hard work I just did, but I’m pretty damn sure that I deserve sleep. I have to wake up earlier than the usual because I’m paying a visit to a school in Katipunan later! So, I better sleep now.
Good night.
P.S. Draining myself with several bottles of Yakult.

16. I like watching TV series
Unlike some people who can’t stay the entire day inside their house, I have the miraculous ability to do so. For a very extrovert and outgoing person, it also amazes me how I have acquired this gift. By now, you would have guessed what is it that I do to keep myself entertained inside our two-storey home. That’s right. I watch television series. I prefer finishing an entire season of a series in just one run rather than having “movie marathons” like most people do. I like it when the story goes on and I’m not very patient when it comes to waiting for the next episode just to see what’s going to happen next. I feel helpless when I find out that I have to wait for another week for the next episode or another three months for the next season. I mean, who likes waiting that long?
I’m the type of person who easily gets absorbed into television series just like how a bookworm would describe their experience in reading books with the best stories. I’m not sure about the how and why, but once I start watching a program I like, I enter the world of the show I’m watching.
I don’t have a certain genre that I like. As long as I like the story and theme, and the plot is good, I get hooked easily. Here are some of the television shows I have finished watching:
Although I like heavy dramas and science fictions, sometimes I prefer to watch televsion shows that make me feel lighter. These are the shows I watch whenever I try to cheer myself up or get over a very stressful day. Actually now I think about it, these shows are my version of chocolate and ice cream on a bad day.
And yes, I also watch Korean-novelas

This is what you call utilizing your free time. Yes, I do consider this a being productive. Instead of staring into empty space and continuously refreshing my Facebook page while waiting for something to happen, why not use my time to finish an entire season in one day? Besides, it’s not only yourself who gets entertained, but also strangers who are interested in the same shows and would like to have a conversation with you. Never thought of television series as a medium for people to socialize, did you? : >
P.S. Feel free to suggest a television program that you think is worth watching!
We are going to DOMINATE the COMPETITION.
